Footie Fever Isn't Only For The World Cup Mayhew Asks For Ball Donations For Homeless Hounds
14th June 2010
The Mayhew Animal Home is asking those footie fans who have World Cup fever to think of others who like the beautiful game homeless hounds!
The rescue centre in Kensal Green is asking for donations of footballs for the dogs awaiting adoption in kennels. As well as the regular walks that each dog goes on every day at the Home, there are two large exercise areas at the centre where dogs can go and play ideal for a bit of a kick about with the staff and volunteers working on the kennels.
Mayhew CEO, Caroline Yates, said
“We make sure that every dog in our kennels gets at least four walks a day and time to play in our exercise runs. Pretty much all of the dogs here are footie mad and just love to chase a ball up and down the run. However, due to the enthusiasm for the beautiful game, these footballs often don’t last too long and we need to replenish our supplies! ”
“We are asking World cup fans to spare a thought for our football loving dogs and have a rummage to find any balls they could donate to the Home and make a homeless hound very happy.”
