WHO WILL BE CROWNED THE UK JUNIOR HANDLER OF THE YEAR?
November 2008 - The prestigious Junior Handler of the Year Final will take place at London’s leading dog event, Discover Dogs 2008, this weekend for the first time.
The final will bring together 14 of the best young dog handlers from around the UK, aged from 6 to 16, who must demonstrate their dog handling ability and rapport with not only their own, but an unfamiliar dog as well.
The exciting competition is supported by Agria Pet Insurance providers of pet healthcare insurance services on behalf of the Kennel Club who are proud to support a competition that encourages the young, aspiring dog enthusiasts of the future.

THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY URGES RIDERS TO VOTE TO SECURE NEW BRIDLEWAYS
November 2007 - The British Horse Society is urging all horse riders to vote to secure kilometres of new bridleways in The People's £50 million Lottery Giveaway.
There are four projects bidding for the £50 million funding, only one can win.

GROOMING MARVELLOUS
November 2007 - The Young Kennel Club (YKC) will be holding its annual grooming competition at Discover Dogs, which takes place at Earls Court, London on 10th and 11th November 2007.
The contest will take place over both days of the event, and the winners on each day will qualify for the YKC Groomer of the Year final at Crufts 2008 at NEC, Birmingham.

VOTE ONLINE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE SUPERDOG
October 2007 - The Kennel Club has been searching far and wide across the UK for dogs with ‘super powers’ to enter the Superdog online competition, organised by the Companion Dog Club. As always the competition is a popular one with hundreds of people sending in entries.

YOUNG KENNEL CLUB HEELWORK TO MUSIC COMPETITION TO BE LAUNCHED IN 2008
October 2007 - A new and exciting Heelwork to Music competition is to be launched in 2008 for Young Kennel Club members.
The competition is open to all YKC members aged between 6 and 17 years old inclusively, handling any Kennel Club registered dog. Members aged 18 years and above are already eligible to enter existing Heelwork to Music events.

YOUNG KENNEL CLUB AT DISCOVER DOGS
October 2007 - The Young Kennel Club (YKC) ring at Discover Dogs will once again be hosting Crufts qualifying competitions for Grooming and Handling*.
The cost of entering a dog into these competitions is £2 per class, and first place winners will be eligible to compete at Crufts 2008 in the YKC ring.
