THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY WELCOMES TWO NEW FELLOWS November 2008 - Following an intense two-day examination, Nick Turner and Caroline Moore have been awarded the prestigious Fellowship of The British Horse Society (FBHS), specialising in Eventing.
The examinations were held at Warwickshire College’s Equine Unit in Moreton Morrell on 30 and 31 October. Candidates demonstrated expertise and knowledge in all spheres of training and educating the horse and rider in front of a team of eight examiners, including Chief Examiner and Chairman of The British Horse Society, Patrick Print FBHS.

NEW PRESIDENT FOR BURGHLEY July 2007 - Miranda Rock (37), daughter of Lady Victoria and Mr. Simon Leatham will be moving into Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire in July to take over the many roles and duties associated with running the estate.
The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials welcomes her as the new President upon the retirement of Lady Victoria.

CAMPAIGNER MAUREEN COMBER ELECTED AS A BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY TRUSTEE July 2007 - Access campaigner Maureen Comber has been elected as a British Horse Society Trustee.
In her election statement, Maureen, who has worked to improve off-road access as a BHS volunteer for more than 30 years, said:

NOEL EDMONDS BIDS FAREWELL TO THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY June 2007 - Noel Edmonds announced his intention to step down as President of The British Horse Society.
Speaking at the Annual General Meeting, he said
“It’s been an interesting three years, apparently one more than the usual two, and I have found the role challenging, stimulating and frustrating in equal measure. But no doubt that is a president's lot.”

DAME TANNI GREY-THOMPSON DBE BECOMES VICE PRESIDENT OF CANINE PARTNERS. BRITAIN’S MOST SUCCESSFUL PARALYMPIC ATHLETE JOINS CHARITY May 2007 - Canine Partners, who specialise in providing highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, is today announcing that Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson has become Vice President of the charity.

LECTURER LEE HACKETT APPOINTED AS NEW WELFARE SENIOR EXECUTIVE AT THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY May 2007 - Lecturer Lee Hackett has joined the BHS as Welfare Senior Executive, from Warwickshire College where he was Programme Manager for all BA (Hons) Equine courses and was Chair of the Equine Subject Assessment Board.
Lee, who taught final year degree level students, has been a keen rider and competitor since childhood and has an MSc Equine Science degree.
He said:
