FORESTRY COMMISSION TEAMS UP WITH THE SEARCH AND RESCUE DOG ASSOCIATION TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE TRAINING OF MOUNTAIN RESCUE SEARCH DOGS
October 2007 - Forestry Commission Scotland is teaming up with the Search and Rescue Dog Association in Southern Scotland this autumn, to raise money for the training of Mountain Rescue Search Dogs.
These dogs are trained to search for missing people in the rural areas, hills and mountains of southern Scotland.

ALICE AND STEPH TRIUMPH IN PUFFA-SPONSORED BHS EQUITATION COMPETITION
June 2007 - The final of The British Horse Society's Equitation Competition, sponsored by Puffa, took place at Warwickshire College, Moreton Morrell on 10 April 2007.
Alice Dymond-Andrews from Pippin Equestrian Ltd in Dorset took the 13 and under title. The 17 and under category was won by Steph Ryder of Newton Hall Equitation Centre in Suffolk.

LAND ROVER TO SPONSOR BURGHLEY HORSE TRIALS UNTIL 2010
May 2007 - Land Rover has today announced it will remain as title sponsor of The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials until at least the year 2010.
Land Rover has been associated with Burghley since the 1990's and has been the proud title sponsor of the Event since 2005, when William Fox-Pitt and Ballincoola were victorious.

SUPPORT THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY AND KEEP YOUR LOCAL OFF-ROAD RIDING ROUTES OPEN!
May 2007 - Make a donation to the BHS Access fund to support the Society in its continuing work to provide riders and drivers with safe off-road routes!
Many areas have virtually no bridleways left, forcing riders onto often busy roads, increasing the number of horse related road accidents.
The BHS carries out valuable work defending and extending these off-road routes but with each case taking a great deal of time and resources, money is needed to continue this work.

EFFORT TO SAVE PRICKLY PALS!
May 2007 - On 27th May Pavel Stroev, a member of the British Hedgehog Preservation Society, will be putting months of training to good use in the Edinburgh Marathon.
This will be his fourth year of participating in this event to raise funds for Uist Hedgehog Rescue.
Though the hedgehogs on Uist aren’t facing a cull this year, it does still cost around £50 per animal to relocate them to the mainland, so funds are vital for the relocation work to continue.
Please support Pavel for this, his fourth marathon on behalf of UHR.

BVA AWF FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR SHEEP, CATTLE AND HORSE WELFARE
May 2007 - The BVA Animal Welfare Foundation (BVA AWF) last night announced that it is seeking to fund projects designed to improve the welfare of sheep, cattle and horses.
Details of the fund were outlined at an evening Reception at the House of Commons hosted by The Rt Hon Dr Gavin Strang MP, by Carl Padget, Chair of the BVA AWF Trustees, who said:
“We are delighted to be in a position to make substantial funding available, under the Norman Hayward Fund, for research into the diseases and welfare of sheep, cattle or horses.

OUTWARD BOUND CHARITY CHALLENGE 2007. YOUNG KENNEL CLUB MEMBERS RISE TO THE CHALLENGE TO SHOW THEIR CANINE SPIRIT!
